On Saturday, March 25th, at the BC Bowls AGM, George Cubiss, Provincial Head Umpire, presented Certificates of Appreciation to retired Umpires Pete Moffat and Don Beck. Both Pete and Don have officiated at Club, District, Provincial and National levels.

Pete Moffat is a longstanding playing member and executive member, of the North Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club. In addition, he has been games coordinator, coach and mentor for many members.  He is a winner of past Provincial, District and Club Championships. His work for the Vancouver & District speaks volumes for the way the district is run today.  After 25 years of officiating, Pete retired at the end of the season. His knowledge of the game and its rules are second to none and he was extremely pleased to receive his Certificate of Appreciation.

Don Beck has been a longstanding member of the West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club and an excellent bowler.  As an umpire, Don has always been reliable and willing to help.  He was a great asset to the officials and his knowledge of the game is excellent. He too was extremely pleased to receive his Certificate of Appreciation.
